Private Lessons
Voice, Piano, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Woodwinds

Young Beginner Piano (Ages 5-7)
Skills taught in the course focus on keyboard performance, listening, pitch matching, keyboard technique, singing, rhythm.movement and music appreciation. Children play short pieces at the piano throughout each level.
Beginner Group Piano (starts at age 8)
Beginner piano class taught in our digital piano lab. Students will learn proper hand position, note reading, songs and simple chords.
Beginner Group Guitar (starts at age 8)
Students will learn to play song, chord and melodies, reading notes, chord charts and tabulature.

Group Vocal Classes

Young Singers (ages 5 -6)
This class is designed to give young children a rewarding singing experience will keeping the capabiliites of their young voices in mind.
Vocal Workshop 1 (ages 7 to 9)
This class is designed to give children a rewarding singing experience while keeping the capabilities of the young voice in mind.
Vocal Workshop 2 (ages 10 - 12)
Students prepare themselves for private voice lessons by doing group exercises to strengthen the vocal chords. Proper technique is stressed as most of these students begin to develop their tone.

Act One (3 - 4 year old)
Students study introductory acting through play and song. Students also become aware of staging themselves in front of an audience, poise, projection, and articulation.

Young Players (5 – 6 yrs)
Students study basic technique used in acting through the use of theatre games. Through improvisation actors study the importance of character, relationship, environment, and space. Students also become aware of staging themselves in front of an audience, poise, projection, and articulation. The class also explores the many careers in the theatre world. Students who have completed at least 1 year of this may go into Theater 1 at age 7 without taking Acting Basics.

Acting Basics (Pre-Requisite class - ages 7 – 10 full year class before Theater 1 / ages 11+ half year class before Theater 2 or Academy)
Students study basic technique used in acting through the use of theatre games. Through improvisation actors study the importance of character, relationship, environment, and space. Students also become aware of staging themselves in front of an audience, poise, projection, and articulation. The class also explores the many careers in the theatre world.


Theater 1 (7 – 9 yrs) after Acting Basics or Young Players
Students spend time honing different tools that actors use through improvisation and scene study, focusing on the importance of listening and reacting, character, relationship, environment, and space work. Work continues on vocal production and articulation.


Theater 2 (10 – 12 yrs) after Acting Basics
Students delve further into scene exploration with the aid of many improvisational games. Emphasis is now placed on performing monologues, researching and finding appropriate material that best shows off their talent, and preparing for auditions. Basics of script analysis is introduced.  Students are encouraged to work behind the scenes at productions as well as working onstage. This class is 1.5 hour long.


Theater Academy (13 yrs+) after Acting Basics
Students delve into monologues, theater styles, audition techniques, and cold readings. Script analysis is further developed.  Studies will include contemporary works, as well as classical including Shakespeare. This class is 2 hours long.


Performance Techniques Private Lessons *****NEW for FALL 2009*****
What makes a performance memorable? That high note in the middle? That really great riff in the third chorus? The passion and intensity of the performer? The ability of the artist to relate to the music and the audience? All of the Above!!!!

The Performance Technique class is geared and designed to teach students how to relate to material in a way that translates the full power of their performance. From emotionally relating to a song, to audience connection. The Performance Technique class will help the student to realize their full potential as a performer. Things that will be covered will include microphone techniques, stage presence, overcoming stage fright and more.
